Wax Valhal Outdoor VH.WAX Cast Iron Care

This VH.WAX Cast Iron Care wax has been developed and produced by Valhal Outdoor itself. The wax is suitable for maintaining and seasoning cast iron cookware.

Due to its natural ingredients, the wax has a light yellow color and smells of beeswax. The wax is composed by Valhal Outdoor from:

• Rapeseed oil
• Grapeseed oil
• Beeswax

You can easily apply the wax with a sponge or cloth. To properly prepare or maintain your cast iron, Valhal Outdoor recommends the following steps:

1. Place your cast iron cookware in the oven and preheat your oven to 175 degrees Celsius. Let your item heat up for 20 minutes.
2. While the cast iron is still warm, rub all sides with Valhal Outdoor's VH.WAX using a tea towel or paper towel.
3. Rub your cast iron again with another clean cloth for a thin and even layer of wax.
4. Place your cast iron pan or accessory back in the oven for 40 minutes at 250 degrees Celsius. This allows for polymerization of the coating.
5. Depending on how smooth and/or greased you want your cast iron item, you can repeat this process two or three times.

If you have the opportunity to carry out these steps outdoors, for example in a barbecue, we recommend doing so outdoors. A fair amount of smoke can develop during step 4.
