FX DRS 500 Base

The Base is the foundation of the FX DRS 500; it's the system and barrel without a stock. With the stock absent, the DRS Base can be enhanced with a stock or chassis of your choosing, resulting in an ideally configured air rifle. Internally, the DRS is packed with the latest air rifle technology. And of course, it already comes with multiple fine-tuning options as standard, from an externally adjustable regulator to an adjustable hammer spring preload. Let's highlight the key features for you:

**Air reservoir in barrel shroud**
The FX DRS is the first FX air rifle to integrate the air reservoir into the barrel shroud. No more cylinder or bottle under the barrel means the overall profile of the air rifle is significantly lower. This offers less obstruction in the shooting position and also ensures that transport and storage of the FX DRS 500 Base require less space. The reservoir has a capacity of 208 cc.

**Adjustable regulator**
To ensure the FX DRS fires each shot with consistent pressure, this air rifle utilizes an AMP MkII regulator. This regulator is externally adjustable, making it incredibly easy to perfectly match the pressure to the pellet or slug being used. This delivers the highest possible accuracy and guarantees ultimate shot consistency.

**Adjustable hammer spring**
When no stock is attached to the system, the hammer spring preload can be adjusted. Increasing the hammer's spring preload will keep the valve open longer, allowing a larger volume of air to pass through. Conversely, a lower hammer spring preload results in a shorter opening period. You can experiment with this to maintain propulsion behind the projectile for as long as possible in the barrel, without disruptive overpressure occurring when it exits the barrel, which could cause instability.

**High Power plenum**
FX is known for paying great attention to the plenum. This is the air storage chamber between the regulator and the valve. It stores the regulated compressed air that is fully used for a single projectile. For larger projectiles, longer barrels, and higher velocities, more air is needed to propel the pellet or slug out of the barrel at the desired speed. Conversely, an excessively large air supply is a waste of air, and too much air still blowing out of the barrel can affect accuracy. For this reason, two variants of the FX High Power plenum are used in the FX DRS: the HP and the larger SHP for slugs. The FX DRS 500 and 600 have an HP plenum (with the exception of the 500 in 6.35 mm, which has an SHP plenum), while the FX DRS (Pro) 700 has an SHP plenum.

**Superior STX barrel system**
The Superior STX barrel system features a removable liner inside the barrel with rifling pressed in from the outside. This gives the inside of the liner a very smooth surface and beautifully flowing lands and grooves. All of this ensures minimal resistance and a good seal around the pellet or slug. FX DRS models with an HP plenum and caliber 5.5 or 6.35 have a Dual Hole transfer port in the barrel. This allows you to choose whether to shoot with pellets or slugs. The barrel is equipped with a ½ UNF thread with thread protector for mounting an optional sound moderator.

**Adjustable trigger**
To get the very best out of the FX DRS 500 Base, it has been given a fully adjustable trigger. This allows you to set the trigger exactly as you wish, so that the feel perfectly matches your shooting style. Both the first and second stages are adjustable, and the trigger blade can be adjusted in distance and height, but can also be rotated for perfect ergonomics.

**Magazine choice and rails**
The FX DRS comes standard with a mini-magazine. Thanks to this small magazine, you can mount the scope very low on the air rifle. If you wish to mount an optional 30 MOA Weaver/Picatinny rail on the 11 mm dovetail rail of the FX DRS Classic, that is possible. We have a low variant where you can continue to use the mini-magazine and a high variant if you want to use the optional mega-magazine with more capacity.

**Loading and filling**
With the magazine in place, it's simply a matter of pulling the very smooth side cocking lever to the rear on the right side to load the FX DRS. And to replenish the air supply, there's a filling port on the right side where you can easily insert a filling nipple.

**Please note:** The FX DRS is delivered in an average state of tuning, making it universally usable. The maximum values specified in the specifications can be achieved by utilizing the various adjustment options on the air rifle.
