Description
The KMR S-02 Open is highly suitable as a training pistol or for practicing shooting sports. The pistol is great for beginners, but experienced shooters will also be able to achieve excellent results with this firearm. Unlike the regular KMR S-02, this Open version features an extended slide with an integrated compensator imitator. There are three - mainly decorative - slots on the top of the slide. The steel slide is split, and only the rear part slides back, which also somewhat reduces recoil.
For aiming, this firearm uses a red dot sight. There are three mounting holes on the left side of the impact-resistant aluminum frame, where a red dot mount is standardly fitted. There's even an adjustable thumb rest at the base of the mount, which further contributes to excellent recoil control. The red dot mount takes up a significant amount of space, which can make it difficult to pull the slide back - even with the diagonal grooves on both sides. To assist with this, the KMR S-02 Open's slide is equipped with a so-called slide racker. This is an extra protruding pin mounted on the back of the slide, which typically extends to the right side. By using this slide racker, you can pull the slide back with one or two fingers.
The KMR S-02 Open feels good in hand. There's a rough texture on the front and rear of the grip, which is also found on the grip panels. You can firmly press the top of your hand against the beavertail, and thanks to the extra-large magwell, you feel where the grip ends. This allows you to grasp the KMR S-02 Open correctly in one go, even without looking. On the left side of the grip is the extra-protruding magazine catch. The safety lever - also on the left side of the frame - is also extra-large. Everything about this firearm is designed for intuitive handling. The trigger's overtravel is adjustable, and it has a very short reset, allowing you to fire multiple shots in a short amount of time.
