Description
Description
This Element Optics Titan 3K ballistic rangefinder is lightweight and specifically designed for long-range shooters. It feels comfortable in hand and is very easy to use with its two buttons. You can easily connect it to the Element Ballistics app via Bluetooth. After setting the correct ballistic profile through the app, you can put your smartphone away. The Titan 3K rangefinder features a ballistic chip that can perform all calculations. It can even connect to the HYPR-7 riflescope. The Titan 3K rangefinder and the HYPR-7 riflescope from Element Optics can then communicate with each other. This allows both devices to use the same data to determine the correct -predicted- point of impact.
The Element Optics Titan 3K ballistic rangefinder has -as the name suggests- a range of 3000 meters. Under perfect conditions, it has an even greater range, but Element Optics guarantees a minimum range of 3000 meters. The rangefinder has a standard magnification of 7x, with a field of view of 12.3 meters at 100 meters. The objective has a diameter of 26 mm, providing decent light transmission. This allows for excellent observation while maintaining sufficient overview. Everything you observe and the information the rangefinder can provide is displayed on the dual-colour T-OLED display. The green indicator shows that the laser is activated, and the angle and distance to the object are shown in red. By pressing the button on the top of the Helix 1500 rangefinder, you can switch between the different modes:
- LOS – Line of Sight: this measures the actual distance to the object.
- HCD – Horizontal Component Distance: the rangefinder measures the horizontal distance to the object.
- BALC – Ballistic Calculator: this mode displays the LOS as well as a ballistic calculation for the point of impact. It can display this calculation in MOA, MRAD, inches, or cm.
There are six brightness levels for the display, which you can switch between by pressing both buttons on the top of the rangefinder simultaneously. This allows you to use the rangefinder in various lighting conditions.
By holding down the mode button for 3 seconds, you can switch between First and Last modes. In First mode, the Element Optics Titan 3K rangefinder registers the distance to the nearest object. If you then -accidentally- measure something next to the object and the laser hits a tree further back, for example, it will still show the distance to that front object. In Last mode, it's the opposite, where the rangefinder only displays the distance to the furthest registered object.
Unlike most rangefinders -which typically have a vertical design- this Titan 3K has a horizontal design. The optical lens is in the middle, the laser is on the left side, and the battery compartment is on the right side. That extra-large battery compartment is for the 18650 battery, and the rangefinder is easily rechargeable with a USB-C cable. The USB-C port is on the back, just next to the twist-up eyecup.
The Titan 3K rangefinder from Element Optics weighs only 362 grams and has a length of 126 mm. This means it takes up hardly any space, and you can easily take it with you. It has a weatherproof housing, with a rough texture on both sides. This allows you to hold it with two hands, but also with one hand on the left or right side. The centrally located buttons are always easily accessible. On the underside of the rangefinder, there is a thread for an Arca-Swiss mounting plate, allowing you to easily mount it on a tripod.
