The Beretta 92FS is a well-known, almost iconic double/single action semi-automatic pistol used worldwide by many government agencies. The Beretta 92 has been in use for many decades, and its already good reliability has been raised to an unprecedented level through continuous development.

Ease of use has been considered in every aspect. For example, wherever possible, polymer has been used to keep the weight as low as possible. And the safety can be operated by both left- and right-handed users, so the pistol feels as intuitive for left-handers as it does for right-handers. Even the magazine release can be moved from left to right.

It's also worth noting that the Beretta 92FS can be disassembled without tools. By pressing a catch on the right, a lever on the left can be rotated, after which the barrel and slide can be removed as a single unit. Then the spring can be manually removed, and the barrel can be slid out of the slide for cleaning.

The renowned reliability and unparalleled accuracy are partly due to the small tolerances Beretta applies during production and the attention to finish. For example, the barrel is hard-chromed for reduced wear. By using an open slide, the chance of a malfunction due to a jamming casing is minimized. This makes the Beretta 92FS far from critical when it comes to ammunition; it will handle almost anything.

And to increase durability, the exposed metal parts have received a Bruniton coating. This surface treatment prevents oxidation of the metal surface.
