Element Optics ETX Red Dot

The ETX red dot by Element Optics is light and compact, making it suitable for mounting on handguns, among other things. Automatic brightness adjustment and shake-to-wake functionality contribute to battery life.

Operating the red dot is simple, with a button on both sides of the housing. These buttons can be used to set the brightness of the dot, as well as the 'shake-to-wake' function and automatic brightness adjustment. The buttons can also be locked, preventing accidental adjustments. This comes in handy when used during competitions, for example.

There are a total of 10 brightness settings, 8 of which are suitable for daytime use and 2 for nighttime. The automatic brightness setting selects one of these options based on the ambient light picked up by the sensor at the front of the red dot. The shake-to-wake setting ensures that the red dot goes into standby mode as soon as it has been stationary for 120 seconds. This combination of these two functions saves the battery as much as possible, resulting in a battery life that can last up to 42,000 hours. If the battery needs to be replaced, this can be done via the top of the mounting plate. This means the red dot does not have to be removed from the weapon, making re-zeroing unnecessary.

Mounting the Element Optics ETX red dot can be done by two methods: using the red dot's Trijicon RMR mounting system, or with the included Weaver/Picatinny adapter.
