Although the ear cushions are easy to clean, there is a thin foam layer inside these hearing protectors that can become soiled over time. Especially within clubs, it is desirable from a hygienic point of view to replace this foam occasionally, and periodic replacement is also recommended for your personal hearing protector, partly because soiled foam has a damping effect on the built-in amplifier.
