Hornady Superformance Varmint .222 Rem V-Max 50 grain cartridges use Superformance progressive powder, which, due to its mixed composition, provides a higher velocity than conventional powder without building up extra chamber pressure or increasing recoil.
Thanks to their aerodynamic design and polymer tip, the V-Max bullet heads have a high ballistic coefficient of .242 (G1). The cold-forged lead core has a cavity behind the polymer tip's stem, allowing it to build momentum upon impact before striking the core, thus ensuring extremely rapid fragmentation.
