This Omni muzzle brake by Bergara with M14x1 thread reduces recoil by directing the expelled combustion gases from a shot sideways after leaving the barrel. This compensates for the backward movement your rifle makes during a shot and can reduce recoil by up to 30%.

The recoil reduction does mean that the muzzle blast becomes more audible, simply because the combustion gases – and therefore also the sound – are directed sideways and backward, instead of towards the target. For this reason, it is important to pay extra attention to ensuring your hearing is sufficiently protected.
