This Schmeisser SM30 30 mm Medium Weaver/Picatinny one-piece mount is of the cantilever type. This means the mount extends slightly from its mounting point, providing more leeway to perfectly adjust the eye relief of a mounted scope.
The Schmeisser SM30 30 mm Medium Weaver/Picatinny mount clamps onto a Weaver/Picatinny rail using a quick-detach system with two quick-release levers. It is precision-milled from 6061-T6 aluminum (hard, corrosion-resistant, and with a low thermal expansion coefficient) with a matte black MIL-A8625F-Type III hard anodized finish.
Both rings of the Schmeisser SM30 30 mm Medium Weaver/Picatinny mount are wide for a large clamping surface. This reduces the risk of over-clamping, which could deform the scope tube. The mounting rings each have six clamping bolts that are numbered to ensure proper tightening sequence, which is also important in preventing deformation of the scope tube.
Screw holes on top and on both sides of the mounting rings are for attaching the included short Weaver/Picatinny accessory rail using two Torx bolts.
