With the Ares BTR Gen2 4.5-27x50 APRS5, Athlon Optics has delivered an impressive riflescope with an impressive six-fold zoom range, where zooming is extremely smooth thanks to a rotating mechanism with only +/- 0.0001 mm tolerance. The wide zoom range makes the riflescope broadly applicable, and by using a reticle in the first focal plane, the MIL subtensions are exactly correct at every magnification.

The stainless steel turrets are adjustable in 0.1 MIL (MRAD) clicks, providing a 10 MIL reticle adjustment per full rotation. The total adjustment range for both elevation and windage is 24 MIL. A zero-stop ensures that you can find the set zero point by feel, even in the dark. The reticle is illuminated, with intensity adjusted by a rotary knob on the same turret as the side adjustment for the parallax. The parallax, by the way, is adjustable from 23 meters (25 yards) to infinity.

The lenses of this Athlon Optics Ares BTR Gen2 4.5-27x50 APRS5 riflescope are fully multi-coated for a razor-sharp and clear image. An additional XPL coating on the outer lenses protects against dirt, oil, and scratches. To prevent fogging during large temperature fluctuations, the riflescope is filled with argon.
