Javelin Gen 2 5.5 mm (.218) 21 grain slugs are very balanced due to their uniformity and density, which is possible because they are forged instead of cast. These second-generation Javelin slugs have been modified to further improve performance:
• Hollow point shape and depth have been redesigned for better expansion and weight distribution
• Meplat has been rounded for better aerodynamics
• Base is now hollow instead of flat, for more stability in turbulent conditions
• Tighter machine tolerances for more consistency between batches
These improvements, the smooth finish, and the ingenious bullet shape of the Javelin Gen 2 slugs give them a ballistic coefficient of 0.073.
